
About the Museum of Archaeology
The Museum of Archaeology is the first professional archaeological institution in southwestern Taiwan. It features archaeological and historical artifacts primarily unearthed and collected from the Tainan Science Park. Through thoughtfully curated displays and engaging educational programs, the museum provides a compelling cultural experience for all visitors.
Opening Hours
- Museum Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00–17:00
- Ticketing Hours: 09:00–16:30
- Closed: Mondays (except for national holidays, make-up holidays, and election days), The day before Lunar New Year's Eve, Lunar New Year's Eve, and Lunar New Year's Day. Additional closures will be announced separately.
- Secret Chamber Live Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 10:00–11:30 and 14:00–15:30
How to Get to the Museum

(1)By Car
- From National Freeway No. 1 (Southbound):
Exit at No. 311 → Shanhua direction → Anding East Rd → turn right onto Zhijianong Blvd → Shugu Blvd → turn left on Huoshui Rd → Nanke 7th Rd → turn right on Huanxi Rd Sec. 2 → turn left on Siraya Blvd → turn right on Huandong Rd Sec. 1 → turn right on Nanke 3rd Rd → enter underground parking entrance - From National Freeway No. 3 (Southbound):
Exit at 340 Shanhua → turn right on Chenggong Rd (County Rd 178) → turn left on Provincial Highway 1 (Zhonghua Rd) → turn right on Siraya Blvd → left on Huandong Rd Sec. 1 → turn right on Nanke 3rd Rd → enter underground parking entrance - From National Freeway No. 1 (northbound):
Exit at 315 Tainan System Interchange → take Freeway No. 8 toward Xinhua → exit at 9 Xinshi → head toward Tainan Science Park → turn left on Xingangshe Blvd → Nanke South Rd → turn right on Nanke 3rd Rd → enter underground parking entrance - From National Freeway No. 3 (northbound):
Exit at No. 346 Xinhua System Interchange → take Freeway No. 8 toward Tainan → exit at No. 9 Xinshi → head toward Tainan Science Park → turn left on Xingangshe Blvd → Nanke South Rd → turn right on Nanke 3rd Rd → enter underground parking entrance

(2)By Train + Bus (from Xinshi or Shanhua Station)
- Green Line 1 (8 departures/day): Get off at Nanke Mall, walk ~3 min to museum
- Green Line 3 (3 departures/day): Get off at Siraya Park, walk ~6 min to museum

(3)From Nanke Railway Station (Weekdays Only)
- Take the free Nanke Shuttle Bus (Red, Orange, Blue, Green, or Brown Line), get off at Park 17 Mall, walk ~3 min
- The Nanke shuttle bus stop is located beneath the overpass to the right of the west exit of Nanke Train Station.

(4)From HSR Tainan Station
- Weekdays: Exit 2 → Platform 3 → take the free Nanke Shuttle HSR Green Line, get off at Park 17 Mall, walk ~3 min
- Weekends: Take pedestrian bridge or exit 1 to Shalun TRA Station → get off at Xinshi Station → transfer to Tainan Bus
(5)By Bicycle
- Bicycle parking is available on the east side of the museum (near Huandong Rd. and Time Corridor).

Parking Information
- Underground Parking: Shared with Tainan Science Park Administration (entrance on Nanke 3rd Rd)

- Cars & Heavy Motorcycles: Free for first 12 hours; NT$20/hour thereafter (no maximum fee)
- Outdoor Parking: Free lot available near the corner of Huandong Rd Sec. 2 and Siraya Blvd (suitable for buses)

Nearby Attractions
- Around the museum, you can visit Sunrise Lake and Daoye Lake Detention Basin in the Tainan Science Park. Also nearby are the Tree Valley Life Science Museum and Tree Valley Farm in the Tree Valley area.
- The Taiwan Sugar Corp. Visitor Park near the Shanhua Train Station is also recommended for dropping by.
- For attractions further afield, consider the National Museum of Taiwan History, Tainan Shan-Shang Garden and Old Waterworks Museum, Tainan City Zuozhen Fossil Park, and the Tainan Astronomical Education Area.
